An extortion group that registered FIRs alleging gang rape was busted by Delhi Police. Officials arrested an accused and a forged voter ID and an Aadhar card were also recovered.
A woman, identified as ND (name undisclosed), filed a complaint with Dwarka South Police alleging that she was raped. During the investigation, ND provided a voter ID with her name but was reluctant to show her address. Getting suspicion, officials verified her voter ID with the Election Commission and found it was forged.
Upon further investigation, all the people accused in the rape case were questioned about the incident. The Call Details Record (CDR) and Customer Acquisition Form (CAF) of all the accused persons and the complainant was probed.
It was then discovered that the accused didn’t come to Delhi and had never visited Dwarka. On analysing the CDR of the complainant, it was found she also never visited the place of the incident.
Upon further analysis, her real name was discovered, and she had another gangrape complaint registered at Seemapuri with her real name.
Further probe revealed that similar gang rape cases were filed in Haryana, Delhi and Dwarka South. Based on this evidence, a case was registered against ND.
During the probe, many more persons were also found to be involved in the sextortion group. ND was arrested by officials and further investigations are still underway to nab other people involved in the gang.
