Fred has been downgraded to a post-tropical cyclone, but the storm still poses a danger for parts of the US.
After causing heavy flooding in Haywood County, North Carolina -- where 35 people were unaccounted for Wednesday evening -- the system is heading east-northeast, according to CNN meteorologist Michael Guy. And as it moves into the Mid-Atlantic and then the New England region, heavy rain and isolated tornadoes are still possible.
