Fox News host Jessica Tarlov on Wednesday called out GOP officials after President Donald Trump pumped the brakes on his sweeping tariffs that fueled chaos for financial markets around the world over the past week.
“What always sticks out to me when we go on this Trumpian merry-go-round is the ritualistic humiliation that he subjects for people who work for him,” Tarlov told her co-hosts on “The Five.”
Trump officials who praised his “Liberation Day” tariffs suddenly found themselves spinning his 90-day pause on import taxes for most countries except China, a reversal the president shared to Truth Social on Wednesday.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent spoke of Trump’s “successful negotiating strategy” following the announcement that led to markets rebounding after roughly a week of losses.
