JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy has appealed to the Kerala government to retain the original Kannada names of villages in Kasaragod district.
Former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Sunday questioned the Kerala government's move to allegedly change the Kannada names of villages in Kasaragod district to Malayalam. It has come to my notice that Kerala government has begun the process of changing the Kannada names of some of its villages in Manjeshwara of Kasaragod district into Malayalam. (1/6) Hence I feel that it is the duty of both Kerala and Karnataka to protect the traditional feelings of Kannadigas living there. Though the Kannada names of villages are being changed into Malayalam, their meaning appears to have been retained. (5/6) HD Kumaraswamy appealed to Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan to retain the original names of villages.More Related News
