A Delhi court has granted Umar Khalid bail in one of the Northeast Delhi riots cases against him.
A Delhi court on Thursday granted bail to former JNU student leader Umar Khalid in connection with a Delhi riots case arising out of an FIR filed at the Khajuri Khas police station. Umar Khalid is among hundreds of people booked in connection with the riots that ravaged Northeast Delhi last year in February. Apart from the case arising out of the Khajuri Khas FIR, he is also booked under sedition charges for allegedly being part of a "premeditated conspiracy" in the Delhi riots. While granting bail to Umar Khalid, Additional Sessions Judge Vinod Yadav observed that "he cannot be made to stay in jail for infinity merely on account of the fact that other persons who were part of the riotous mob have to be identified and arrested".More Related News
