Former India cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his wife Sakshi are celebrating their 12th wedding anniversary on Monday.
The couple had tied the knot on July 4, 2010 in Dehradun. They were blessed with a baby girl - Ziva, who was born on February 6, 2015.
Dhoni had missed the birth of his daughter as the former India captain was preparing for the World Cup defence in Australia.
Sakshi, who was a hotel management student, met Dhoni at Taj Bengal in Kolkata, where the Indian team was staying. Interestingly, it was Sakshi's then manager who introduced her to Dhoni, who instantly fell in love with her.
A Hindi movie titled MS Dhoni - The Untold Story beautifully captured the happy couple's story.
Sakshi is often seen in attendance during the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings' matches. Dhoni, who had announced his retirement from international cricket in 2020, was last seen in action for CSK in the 2022 IPL.
CSK were eliminated in the group stage this season. Ahead of the tournament, Ravindra Jadeja was named captain Dhoni’s successor on the eve of their opening match. However, at the halfway stage of CSK’s campaign, Jadeja relinquished the captaincy and handed it back to Dhoni.
