A former cast member of “Bob’s Burgers” is reportedly set to plead guilty for his alleged involvement in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riots.
Actor Jay Johnston, who played villainous Jimmy Pesto Sr. on the long-running Fox animated series, is expected to change his plea from not guilty to guilty during a plea agreement hearing scheduled for July 8, according to court documents obtained by The Daily Beast.
Johnston is facing four counts, including felony obstruction of officers in connection with the Jan. 6 insurrection. In addition, CCTV from the day reportedly shows the actor “handing up a stolen U.S. Capitol police shield to other rioters.”
After Johnston’s alleged involvement in the insurrection became public, he was removed from the “Bob’s Burgers” cast.
His former collaborator, comedian Paul F. Tompkins, said he was shocked by the news.
