The filmmaker died at the age of 86 in Mumbai on Thursday
Filmmaker and lyricist Saawan Kumar Tak died at the age of 86 in a Mumbai hospital on Thursday evening. The filmmaker was brought to the hospital on Wednesday, where he was being treated for lungs infection and breathing issues, news agency PTI reported. "He passed away at 4:15pm due to heart failure. His heart had stopped functioning," the filmmaker's nephew Navin told PTI. Members of the film fraternity paid tribute to the filmmaker. Salman Khan, who worked in Saawan Kumar Tak's 1991 film Sanam Bewafa and the 2006 film Saawan...The Love Season, posted a throwback picture of himself with the late filmmaker and he wrote: "May you rest in peace my dear Sawaan ji.
