Florida police seize 309 animals from mobile home before arresting 'overwhelmed' woman
Fox News
A Florida woman was arrested after deputies conducting a welfare check discovered 309 cats, birds and dogs living in bad conditions with lethal ammonia levels.
When the officer arrived, he met with 48-year-old Lisa Lacharite in the front yard of the home, where the deputy told her he was there to conduct a welfare check on the older woman, who turned out to be Lacharite’s mother. Greg Wehner is a breaking news reporter for Fox News Digital.
Lacharite allegedly told the officer she was her mother's caregiver, adding that she had health issues. Lacharite asked the officer to wait outside while she went inside to get her mother. Story tips and can be sent to Greg.Wehner@Fox.com and on Twitter @GregWehner.
