Flights hit due to heavy rain, storm in Delhi-NCR, traffic disruptions likely

Strong winds accompanied by heavy rains battered parts of Delhi-NCR on Monday morning, disrupting flight operations.
Heavy rain accompanied by thundershowers lashed parts of Delhi-NCR on Monday morning, bringing much-needed respite from the heat. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted more showers for the national capital during the day.
In the latest bulletin, the weather department said that dust storms and thunderstorms with light to moderate intensity rain and gusty winds with a speed of 50-80 km/h are "very likely" to continue over Delhi-NCR and adjoining areas during the next two hours.

The IMD issued an impact warning suggesting people to stay indoors, close windows and doors, and avoid travel if possible. It said the dust storm and thunderstorms may damage vulnerable structures.
