Five people were arrested by Eluru police in Andhra Pradesh for aiding loan app organisers by facilitating the repayment of loans. Officials discovered that about Rs 48 crores were transacted by the five men through 33 bank accounts.
A gang of five people were arrested for facilitating the transfer of loan repayments through their personal bank accounts on behalf of loan app organisers in Andhra Pradesh’s Eluru district.
Arresting the accused identified as Ketadi Venkatesh of Visakhapatnam, Katiki Sandeep of Hyderabad, Nagamuthu and Vigneswaran, both of Madurai, and Arun of Chennai, Eluru rural police said they had facilitated the transfer of huge sums for a commission.
Based on a complaint by Appalabhaktula Nagendra Murthy in Eluru, Eluru police chief, Rahul Dev Sharma, said teams of four had been formed to probe the complaint. During the investigation, officials found that about Rs 48 crore was transacted through 33 bank accounts.
Warning people against downloading loan apps, the police officer also requested people to come forward and lodge a complaint in case they fell victim to such applications.
