The railway overbridge, which was inaugurated by Mamata Banerjee last week, was once again inaugurated by Suvendu Adhikari on Friday.
The Kamarkundu Railway overbridge which was inaugurated by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee last week was re-inaugurated by the Eastern Railway today at Singur in Hooghly district.
The leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari was invited as the chief guest.
However, MLA of Singur, and TMC minister Becharam Manna's name was on the list of invitees along with BJP MP Locket Chatterjee.
The Eastern Railways had earlier written to the Bengal Government stating that it would be fitting if the Railway Minister jointly inaugurated the bridge with Mamata Banerjee. They had stated in the letter that 60 percent of the project cost was borne by them.
However, the Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had not been extended an invitation and the railway overbridge was inaugurated by the Bengal CM only.
