In a recent auction, a sealed Apple First Generation iPhone was auctioned for Rs 28 Lakh in the USA before the launch of iPhone 14 series.
Apple will be launching the most awaited iPhone 14 series on September 7. Ahead of the launch, a first-generation Apple iPhone from 2007 was sold for $35,000 (around Rs 28 lakh) in an auction in the United States. The auction was organized by RR Auction and around 70 Apple gadgets were put up for auction. The deadline to submit the final bid was by August 18th.
A fully loaded 8GB original iPhone was auctioned off for $35,414 dollars. According to the RR Auction, the iPhone box has a life-size representation of the iPhone with 12 icons on the screen. The device was part of the "Apple, Jobs, and Computer Hardware" curated sale by RR Auction, which finished on August 18 and had over 70 items up for bid.
Notably, Apple CEO Steve Jobs launched the iPhone on January 9, 2007, at the Macworld convention in San Francisco. The device was packed with features like a touchscreen mobile phone with an iPod, camera and Web-browsing capabilities and more.
The iPhone had a touchscreen, a web browser, a 2MP camera, and visual voicemail. In June 2007, the iPhone was made available in the US for $499 for the 4GB model and $599 for the 8GB model, both of which required a two-year contract.
