First American woman to race sailboat alone nonstop around world hopes to inspire other girls to sail

Cole Brauer, 29, from Maine, successfully completed the Global Solo Challenge on Thursday, March 7, becoming the first American woman to race a sailboat nonstop around the world.
Brauer was both the youngest competitor and the only woman to partake in the Global Solo Challenge. Christine Rousselle is a lifestyle reporter with Fox News Digital.
During her journey, Brauer traveled along the west coast of Africa, sailed around the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa, and then east toward Australia, said the AP.
