Firozabad: Death toll due to viral fever and dengue climbs to 50

As the viral illnesses are wreaking havoc in Uttar Pradesh, three fresh fatalities from dengue and viral fever have been reported in Firozabad on Friday, taking the total death toll to 50.Ten areas -- nine block and Nagar Nigam --- in the district have been seriously affected.At a meeting in Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the Principal Secretary, Medical Education, to camp in Agra and Firozabad districts to take stock of the situation, an official spokesperson said, reports PTI. Hospitals have been instructed to use the isolation beds and oxygen facilities, reserved for covid-affected patients, to treat people diagnosed with viral diseases. There are 36 active camps in the district and 3,719 people, including those who have fever, are undergoing treatment there, Chief Medical Officer Dinesh Kumar Premi noted in a statement.
