
Fire at Tata Steel plant in Jamshedpur, 2 injured

A fire broke out at the Tata Steel plant in Jharkhand's Jamshedpur on Saturday. Two people were injured in the incident.
Two people sustained injuries after a fire broke out at Tata Steel company's Coke plant in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, on Saturday.
"Today, at around 10:20 am (IST), there was a blast in the foul gas line at Battery 6 of Coke Plant at Jamshedpur Works," Tata Steel said in a statement on Saturday.
"Currently, Battery 6 is non-operational and is undergoing a dismantling process," the statement read.
The ambulance and fire tenders immediately reached the spot and the area was cordoned off. The situation was soon brought under control.

Two of the contract employees sustained minor injuries and were sent to Tata Main Hospital (TMH) for treatment.
Another employee, who complained of chest pain, was also sent to TMH for observation. "Their condition is said to be stable," Tata Steel said in the statement.
