
Filmmaker Avinash Das seeks bail after sent to judicial custody by Ahmedabad court

Filmmaker Avinash Das has been sent to judicial custody by a metropolitan court in Ahmedabad. The filmmaker has applied for bail, which has been opposed by the Ahmedabad crime branch department.
A metropolitan court in Ahmedabad has sent filmmaker Avinash Das to judicial custody for sharing a photo of Amit Shah with arrested IAS officer Pooja Singhal. Das has also applied for bail, which has been opposed by the Ahmedabad crime branch department.
The crime branch department sought further custody of the filmmaker, which was refused by the court.
The sleuths of the Ahmedabad crime branch department told the court that bail should not be given to Avinash Das as the filmmaker failed to appear before the police despite three notices being served to him. The police also said that Avinash Das has a habituated inclination to post fake posts, adding that Das is not co-operating in the investigation.
Avinash Das was arrested in Mumbai for sharing a photo of Union Home Minister Amit Shah with arrested IAS officer Pooja Singhal. On Wednesday, he was sent to one-day police custody by the Ahmedabad Metropolitan Court.
Avinash Das, through his advocate, appealed to court that bail should be granted and whatever conditions are put forth he will follow it. Avinash Das also told the court that he will co-operate in police investigations. The bail order in the case is expected today.

A team of the Ahmedabad Crime Branch had detained Das from his residence in Mumbai on Tuesday and brought him to Ahmedabad in the early hours of Wednesday.
