FCRA rules: Govt extends validity of registration certificates for NGOs till September 30

The Ministry of Home Affairs has made two important announcements regarding FCRA rules for NGOs. The fresh decisions are likely to help NGOs receive foreign funding that is urgently required during the second wave of Covid-19 in the country.
The government has made an important announcement regarding the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act for non-profit organisations (NGOs). It has decided to extend the validity of registration certificates for NGOs till September 30, 2021. The public notice issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs suggests that this validity extension is applicable to NGOs whose registration certificates have expired/expiring during the period between September 29, 2020 and September 30, 2021. The decision has been taken in the wake of petitions filed by NGOs in courts over the delay in implemented amended FCRA.More Related News
