Faulty alarm forces Go First flight to make emergency landing in Coimbatore

A faulty alarm forced a Go First flight, flying from Bengaluru to Male, to make an emergency landing in Coimbatore.
A Go First flight, flying from Bengaluru to Male in Maldives, with 92 passengers made an emergency landing in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore due to a faulty smoke alarm. The alarm went off after the engines allegedly overheated, but engineers declared that the alarm was faulty and the aircraft was fit to fly.
An hour after the flight took off from Bengaluru, the alarm went off, prompting the pilot to request permission for an emergency landing at the Coimbatore airport.
The flight landed safely at the airport at 12.57 pm. All passengers were disembarked and firefighters were on stand by. However, during a search there were no signs of any ignition on the flight.

"The alarm went off after the twin engines allegedly overheated and the flight was safely landed. The engineers checked the engines and declared that there was some fault in the alarm and declared that the flight is fit to travel," an airport official said.The flight will depart for Male after following certain procedures.
"The matter is being inspected by the Go First engineering team and rectification is underway," a Go First spokesperson told India Today.
