Fatima Sana Shaikh proved that she is a force to be reckoned with in her debut as a lead actress in the 2016 film Dangal. In the film, she held her own opposite superstar Aamir Khan and in the projects that followed, the star has always earned praise for her acting prowess. Now, in an interaction with Humans Of Cinema, Fatima is seen discussing her craft and career, speaking about the performers and artists who have inspired her. The actress did not shy away from admitting that she is a fan of superstar Shah Rukh Khan and that she is waiting to watch Dunki and Jawan, SRK's upcoming releases. In the same vein, she also spoke about Aamir Khan's versatile body of work listing some of her favourite works of the actor. She said, “I am a Shah Rukh Khan fan, but I feel Aamir Khan has given us a lot of films like Rang De Basanti, 3 Idiots, Taare Zameen Par, PK. Even the film he produced, Peepli Live, all of these films are so different.”
Fatima Sana Shaikh also added that she loves Gangs Of Wasseypur and admires the work of the late Irrfan Khan and Manoj Bajpayee.
Fatima Sana Shaikh also mentioned that she loves Priyanka Chopra's work, adding that the Dostana actress is perhaps the last of the stars to be “extremely versatile.” Speaking of actresses who came before her and made a mark, she said, “They were very feminine. They were very Indian. Their understanding of music and dance. They worked so much, they played different characters,” mentioning Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla in particular.
