The rapper makes a strong case for term limits in a new interview with the House minority leader.
Rapper Fat Joe had some serious questions about age and politics while speaking to Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y,) in a new interview for his Starz show, “Fat Joe Talks.”
In a preview of Friday’s episode, the “All the Way Up” hitmaker asked the top House Democrat why it’s so hard for politicians to pass the torch to the next generation of leaders.
“It seems, in politics, they just never want to leave, they never want to step off,” Joe said.
“There’s gotta be some young brothers and sisters talking about, ‘Yo, we’ve got ideas.’ Will there ever be an age in politics when it’s like, ‘Yo, you did 30 years ― max out’?” the rapper asked. “There’s no where else in the world where you get a job forever. Ain’t nothing you can do about it.”
The House minority leader agreed, telling Joe how he supports finding a way to curb Supreme Court justices from “conducting themselves as if they’re above the law.”
