Shaurya Chakra awardee Group Captain Varun Singh was the lone survivor of the IAF helicopter crash that killed Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and 12 others. The Mi-17 helicopter had crashed in Tamil Nadu's Coonoor last week.
