Rishabh Pant scored an 89-ball century to rescue India out of trouble in the fifth Test match against England. He alongside Ravindra Jadeja took the attack to England when the chips were down.
Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant scored yet another stroke-filled century to rescue India out of trouble against England in the fifth Test match at Edgbaston on 1 July. Playing in his usual manner, Pant put together a stunning partnership with Ravindra Jadeja taking the visitors to a dominating score in the first innings.
The left hander took charge from ball one and stepped down against the pacers to disturb their rhythm. After reaching his half century, Pant consistently improved the scoring rate throwing Jack Leach out the Park at will. He was equally aided by Ravindra Jadeja, who brought up his half century as well.
This was Pant’s third century against England and fifth overall. The youngster, who is also the vice captain of India for this Test match, is just one behind Mahendra Singh Dhoni in terms of most centuries scored by an Indian batter in the longest format of the game.
Cricketing world reacted in joy after the batter reached his hundred and hailed him as the one of the most entertaining batters cricket had ever seen.
