Meanwhile, in an interview with India Today Television, Anupam Kher was asked if The Kashmir Files would provoke the Kashmiri Pandit community to return to their hometown. In response to this, the senior actor said it would take time.
"It took us around 200 years to get Independence, millions of people died, and we waited for it. Before that, for 800 years, we were ruled by the Mughals and after that by the British. Article 370 was abrogated around three years back. Two years lost (due to the pandemic). Usme yeh film aa gayi hai. It takes a little time. We are not here to defend anybody or any government. And, if a government has done a great job by abrogating Article 370 which previous governments did not do. And if the Prime Minister has made an appeal, I think I want to applaud him for that," he said.
