Family pays tribute to Indian student killed in Ukraine, body to be donated after last rites

Indian student killed in Ukraine: The relatives and friends of Naveen Sekarappa Gyanagoudarm paid their tributes on Monday. Naveen was killed in the war between India and Russia.
The family of Naveen Sekarappa Gyanagoudarm, the Indian student killed in Ukraine, paid their final tributes in Karnataka's Haveri on Monday, March 21. Locals and relatives, too, paid homage to Naveen Shekarappa as part of the last rites.
His body reached his native village on Monday morning. After the last rites, his family will donate Naveen's body to Davangere's SS Hospital for research.

Naveen, a fourth-year medical student in Ukraine's Kharkiv city, was killed when he went out of his bunker to get some food, water, and exchange money. The store where Naveen went was just 50 metres from the bunker. Naveen's friend Srikanth told India Today that Naveen had gone during the curfew.
The Ministry of External Affairs has since evacuated over 22,500 Indians, mostly medical students, from war-torn Ukraine, under Operation Ganga. The rescue operation was launched on February 26, two days after Russia began its Ukraine invasion.
