Dakoda Solorzano suffered two heart attacks.
At one point, his heart stopped for several minutes, causing significant complications.
He is now in intensive care at a private Bangkok cardiovascular and neurology clinic.
The medical expenses, plus the cost to transport him home, have been quoted as up to $400,000, far beyond what the family can manage on its own.
A GoFundMe page set up by loved ones has since raised around $74,000, but more funds are needed.
