Family of four killed in AC explosion in Karnataka's Vijayanagara district

In Mariyammanahalli village of Karnataka’s Vijayanagara district, a family of four including two children were killed due to an AC explosion in the early hours of Friday.
Four members of a family, including a couple and their two children were killed due to an explosion in the Air Conditioner (AC) in Mariyammanahalli village in Karnataka’s Vijayanagara district.
The incident occurred at around 12.40 AM on Friday.
A preliminary probe revealed that the fire emanated after a gas leaked from AC vent, triggering an electric short circuit which further led to an explosion. The entire house was also gutted in fire.
According to reports, the deceased have been identified as Venkat Prashanth (42), his wife D. Chandrakala (38), their son Advik (6) and daughter Prerana (8).
Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the matter and are looking at if there were any loans or the family was under any kind of stress.
