Seven members of a family from Bihar, including a 2-year-old, were burnt alive after a fire broke out in their hut in Punjab's Ludhiana on Wednesday.
Seven members, including five children of a family, were charred to death after a fire broke out in their hut in Punjab's Ludhiana.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at around 2 AM when all the family members were sleeping in the shanty, said Baldev Raj, Sub Inspector, police station Tibba.
As per PTI reports, the deceased identified as Suresh Sahni (55), a labourer, his wife Reena Devi (53), their daughters Raakhi, Meenakshi, Geeta and Chanda, and two-year-old son Sunny were migrants from Bihar who belonged to Bogopur village of Samastipur district.
While the bodies have been sent for post mortem, the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
