Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision to rename the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award to the Dhyan Chanda Khel Ratna Award, images of the Param Vir Chakra medal are being erroneously shared as the Khel Ratna award on social media.

The Narendra Modi government on Friday announced that the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, the highest sporting honour in the nation, would be renamed to Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award.
