Facing Water Crisis Amid Heatwave, Delhi Government Goes To Supreme Court

The water crisis in Delhi comes at a time when maximum temperature in the national capital is inching close to the 50 degrees Celsius mark.

Delhi government has requested the Supreme Court for additional water supply from Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh for a month amid a severe shortage in the national capital.

In its petition, Delhi said that the need for water has increased in the national capital amid sweltering heat.

"Delhi's need for water has increased in the scorching heat. It is everyone's responsibility to fulfill the needs of the country's capital," the petition said.
