Srijit Mukherji's Gumnaami, starring Prosenjit in the lead, bagged the Best Bengali Feature Film award at the 67th National Film Awards. This is the fifth national recognition for the famed director.
Srijit Mukherji is no stranger to the National Awards. After Gumnaami won the Best Bengali Feature Film award at the 67th National Film Awards on Monday, this became Mukherji’s fifth personal recognition at the National Awards. But Gumnaami is a special film and not just as a manner of speaking (all films after all are special films for their makers). The film, released on 2 October 2019, is based on the Mukherjee Commission hearings and shows a dramatized version of the works of Anuj Dhar, Chandrachur Ghose and the Mission Netaji voluntary organisation. The film shows the three theories trying to explain the death or disappearance of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Making the film put a strain on Mukherji in a way few previous films of his did.More Related News
