Experts term surge in new cases ‘temporary variation’

The State recorded 3,851 new COVID-19 cases in the last seven days, around 750 more than the previous week. The rise has been significant in Bengaluru Urban where the number of new cases rose to 2,465 from 1,875 in the previous week. While this increase has prompted the authorities to further intensify surveillance and step up testing, especially in the border districts, COVID-19 experts said the rising numbers are “temporary variations” and are not a cause of concern as of now.
