The story of a North Carolina flight instructor jumping out of an aircraft over damaged landing gear is highly unlikely, according to a an expert pilot and lawyer.

"[I] Would be astonished if he jumped out of the airplane. Any commercially rated pilot knows not to do that. He’s not a knucklehead," Tecce said.
