Expect further aggression if Putin wins: Ex-Russian PM now bats for Ukraine

Former Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov has called President Putin a threat to Nato and said further aggression is likely if Moscow emerges victorious over Ukraine.
Once a Prime Minister under Russian President Vladimir Putin, Mikhail Kasyanov now bats for Ukraine. Calling Putin a threat to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Nato), he said, "Expect more aggression if Russia emerges victorious."
He said, "When I was the prime minister and he was the president, I had excellent relations with the US and Nato in general and I was dreaming of making Russia a full-fledged member of Nato. Putin also said he did not exclude such a position."
On Thursday, the Ukraine-Russia invasion entered Day 50 as Russia prepared to step up its assault against Ukraine.
More than 2.6 million Ukrainians have fled into Poland since the first Russian troops crossed into Ukraine on Feb. 24 and over 2 million more have fled into other surrounding countries.
Meanwhile, the head of the International Monetary Fund warned Thursday that Russia’s war against Ukraine was weakening the economic prospects for most of the world’s countries and called high inflation “a clear and present danger” to the global economy.
IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said the consequences of Russia’s invasion were contributing to economic downgrades for 143 countries, although most of them should continue to grow. The war has disrupted global trade in energy and grain and is threatening to cause food shortages in Africa and Middle East.
