In an apparent warning to police in Madhya Pradesh, state Congress chief Kamal Nath said scores will be settled with all those who carry a BJP badge in their pockets.
Addressing Congress workers during a convention of the OBC commission at the party office in Bhopal, Kamal Nath said, “The police administration should know that only 16-17 months are left. Pura hisaab liya jayega (Everything will be taken into account). Those who work with the BJP's badge in their pocket, don't think that we will forget.”
The Leader of Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly said the Congress stands with those who belong to backward communities and will continue to champion their cause and stand up against atrocities.

“Everyone one of your voices will be heard. Don't come under their pressure, we will all stand together by your side,” Kamal Nath added.
This isn’t the first time the Congress leader has issued controversial statements against the state police. In August 2021 also, he said police officers should discharge their duties without political bias and uphold the dignity of their uniform. “Do not respect any party or any person, respect the uniform,” he said.
Kamal Nath also warned government officials and employees, saying, “There are still two years left, be it officers or employees, keep your future safe. Even if you retire, files can be reopened. If you walk around with the BJP’s badge in your pocket, we know of it.”
