Here's what we know about Dotex Merchandise linked to Rahul Gandhi and the National Herald case.
The name of a Kolkata-based company is being linked to an Enforcement Directorate (ED) probe into National Herald case. According to the ED, Dotex Merchanise Pvt Ltd allegedly paid Rs one crore to Young Indian as a loan in 2010.
The probe agency alleged that the money paid as a loan was never returned and there is speculation that the money was possibly laundered through Young Indian.
Union Minister Smriti Irani and veteran BJP leader Subramanian Swamy had questioned Rahul Gandhi's link with this firm as he faces heat over the money laundering case.
Here's what we found out about the firm.
1) The property exists at 5, Lower Rawdon Street in Sreepally of Ballygunge, Kolkata, in a residential apartment named Aakash Deep.
2) It is located on the 4th floor, room no 3 with a signboard of Dotex Merchandise Pvt Ltd.
3) Caretaker claimed that it is a guest house of Dotex Merchandise and has been there for the past 20 years. He also claimed that directors Hemant Goenka and Sunil Bhandari visit the office at times.
