EU's medicines agency explains why Covishield is missing from Green Pass list

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) said Serum Institute of India's Covid-19 vaccine, Covishield, does not currently have a marketing authorisation in European Union and therefore it is not listed on 'Green Pass' approved vaccines. SII CEO Adar Poonawala said the matter is being taken up at the highest levels.
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) on Monday clarified the exclusion of Serum Institute of India (SII) manufactured Covishield from the list of approved vaccines for the 'Green Pass', stating that the India-made vaccine does not currently have a marketing authorisation in the European Union (EU). "In the EU, the vaccine called Covishield does not currently have a marketing authorisation. Even though it may use an analogous production technology to Vaxzevria (the COVID-19 Astra Zeneca vaccine authorised in the EU)," EMA press officer Zala Grudnik told India Today Television in response to an email query.More Related News
