'Etched in our minds': IAF mourns passing of veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar

The Indian Air Force expressed its condolences on the passing of Lata Mangeshkar in a tweet. "She leaves behind a historic legacy of immortal songs," the tweet said.
Legendary singer and Bharat Ratna awardee Lata Mangeshkar passed away at the age of 92 in Mumbai on Sunday. She had been undergoing treatment at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital since January 8 after she tested positive for Covid-19.

Further, the Indian Air Force reminisced its Diamond Jubilee celebration in 1992 when Lata Mangeshkar sang the IAF song. " The memory of her singing the #IAF song on our Diamond Jubilee in 1992 will always remain etched in our minds," the tweet said.

Lata Mangeshkar's mortal remains will be shifted from her residence on Peddar Road to Shivaji Park in Mumbai around 4.30 pm for public darshan followed by cremation. PM Modi will pay his respects at around 5 pm.
As a mark of respect to Lata Mangeshkar, the nation will observe two days of mourning. The National Flag will fly at half-mast for two days and there will be no official entertainment.
