ESIC scheme adds 13.22 lakh new members in August 2021

Gross new enrolments with Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) were 10.74 lakh in April, 8.88 lakh in May, 10.62 lakh in June and 13.33 lakh in July this year, the latest data showed.

New Delhi: Around 13.22 lakh new members joined the ESIC-run social security scheme in August this year as against 13.33 lakh in the previous month, official data showed on Monday, giving a perspective on formal sector employment in the country.

The latest data is part of a report released by the National Statistical Office (NSO).
