England fast bowler James Anderson on Thursday, August 25 set another staggering record as he became the first cricketer to play 100 Test matches at home. Anderson achieved the landmark when he took the field in the 2nd of a 3-match Test series against South Africa in Manchester.
James Anderson, who made his debut in 2003, has been leaving quite a few in awe with his longevity in international cricket. Anderson was playing his 1744 Teth Test. The 40-year-old is among the 3 pacers who have played more than 150 Tests with Stuart Broad (158) and Jacques Kallis (166) being the other two.

It was fitting that James Anderson began bowling from the James Anderson end at Old Trafford in Manchester in his 100th Test at home. As usual, Anderson struck early for England in cloudy conditions as he got the wicket of South Africa opener Sarel Erwee (caught behind) as early as the 5th over after the visitors won the toss and opted to bat.
