England vs New Zealand, Lord's Test: Jack Leach's involvement in the Test series opener came to an early end as the left-arm spinner was withdrawn after a head injury in the 6th over of the day.
England spinner Jack Leach's involvement in the first Test against New Zealand at Lord's ended as early as the opening session after he suffered a head injury while fielding. Leach suffered the injury when trying to stop a boundary during the 6th over of the first innings after Kane Williamson opted to bat on a bright sunny morning in London.
The England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed that Jack Leach will take no further part in the Test after showing signs of concussion following the injury. England said they would announce the concussion substitute shortly.

"Jack Leach has symptoms of concussion following his head injury whilst fielding. As per concussion guidelines, he has been withdrawn from this Test. We will confirm a concussion replacement in due course," England cricket said in a social media post.

Leach landed awkwardly on his head while trying to save a boundary after Devon Conway edged a Stuart Broad delivery. While the left-arm spinner managed to pull it in on time, he was in pain after the effort.
Leach was attended to by the physios from both the England and New Zealand camp as the play was delayed by a few minutes.
