India’s teenage sensation Shafali Verma equalled Rahul Dravid’s record after getting outin the 90s on her Test debut. Back in 1996, Rahul Dravid too, had made his Test debut against Engalnd, and got out after scoring 95.
Shafali Verma created many records during her enterprising knock of 96 England on her Test debut in Bristol. She became the first Indian women cricketer who got out in the 90s on Test debut. She will share this record with Rahul Dravid. Former India skipper, too, was dismissed in the 90s on his Test debut. Interestingly, Rahul Dravid’s debut was also against England. He scored 95 before edging one to Jack Russell off Chris Lewis’s bowling. In the same match, current Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president and former India skipper Sourav Ganguly also made his Test debut.
