England women vs India one-off Test: Shafali Verma missed out on a hundred by just 4 runs but she broke a series of records with a dominant innings on Day 2 in Bristol
It was heartbreaking to see Shafali Verma miss out on a historic hundred by just 4 runs on her Test debut. However, the 17-year-old Indian opener set a few records with a dominant knock on Day 2 of the ongoing one-off Test against England women in Bristol. Shafali Verama could have become the first Indian batter to hit a hundred on women's Test debut. She fell short of 4 runs but she broke the Indian record for the highest score on women's Test debut. With her 152-ball 96, Shafali overtook Chanderkanta Kaul's tally of 75 against New Zealand in 1995. Only 7 Indian women have hit Test hundreds so far. Sandhya Agarwal and Hemalatha Kala are the only batters with more than one hundred in Test cricket.More Related News
