The Lord’s cricket ground rose up in the 23rd over to join players and umpires to pay tribute for the Australian great Late Shane Warne.
Lord’s Cricket Ground rose up the 23rd over of the first Test match between England and New Zealand and put their hands together for 23 seconds to pay tribute to Australian legend Shane Warne who died in the month of March.
Lord’s official social media account shared photos of the moment where the players and umpires can be seen standing in a single file, putting their hands together for the departed legend. The crowd joined the players in the tribute and turned it into a memorable event on the day.

Lord’s is hosting the first Test match of the English summer with World Test Champions New Zealand visiting them for a three-Test series. The Kane Williamson-led side got off to a horror start in the first session of the game, losing four wickets in the first hour of play. They failed to recover against the quality trio of James Anderson, Stuart Broad and debutant Matthy Potts. They were bundled out against the new Dukes ball after playing just 40 overs and scoring 132 runs.
The trio, who marked the new era of Ben Stokes were rewarded by the movement in the air which was complemented by Stokes’ attacking field placements throughout the first innings. The new England captain kept the cover region free, inviting the batters to push the ball, while keeping five catching positions behind the stumps.
England, however, could not be fully happy after the first innings, due to the piling up injury concerns. England are already without the services of Chris Woakes and Jofra Archer in the series and now have concerns with the availability of Jack Leach and Matty Potts as well. While Leach was concussed trying to save a boundary, Potts went into the dressing room holding his calf without finishing his 10th over.
