The order partly allowed his plea seeking temporary bail to visit his mother after they recently lost their elder brother Milind Teltumbde, a wanted accused in the Elgar Parishad case, in an encounter in Gadchiroli.
On Wednesday, the Additional Public Prosecutor Sangeeta Shinde submitted a report to the court about a letter addressed by Teltumbde to the prison authorities where he is stating that he wanted to challenge the order passed by the high court. She stated that the letter and the attitude shown by Teltumbde in the letter was unacceptable.
Senior Advocate Mihir Desai appearing for Tetumbde submitted that his client had only recently undergone a spinal procedure. Additionally, he also had a tooth removal procedure, because of which he was not in a position to go by train. He assured the bench that no such challenge had been filed.
“He was under the impression he could go by flight, but since he was in pain, he did not want to go by train,” Desai submitted. To this Shinde stated that no such clarification was given in the letter. In any case, the letter was being produced only for information of the court.
