India Today
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said she was stunned to hear that the Bill was being tabled without taking into consideration the reservations raised by TMC. She even called the amendments "anti-people features".
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee shot off a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, protesting against the Centre's decision to table the new Electricity (Amendment) Bill, 2020, in Parliament despite reservations raised by the States. She called the new amendments "anti-people". Mamata Banerjee pointed in her letter that the Bill, which was proposed to be moved last year, was not passed because of objections by the Trinamool Congress. She also reminded PM Modi about her letter, dated June 12, 2020, in which she had mentioned "all the salient pitfalls" of the Bill.More Related News
