The Election Commission is unlikely to postpone the Assembly polls in five states next year. It has asked the Union health ministry to speed up vaccination in the poll-bound states — Uttarakhand, Goa, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab.
The Election Commission is unlikely to postpone the Assembly polls in the five states — Uttarakhand, Goa, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab — scheduled for next year. The EC has now asked the Union health ministry to speed up the vaccination in the poll-bound states.
After touring Goa and Uttarakhand, the commission met Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan to discuss the Covid situation in the country.
