Rebel camp's MLA Sarvankar wrote to civic authorities claiming Shivaji Park ground for the Dussehra rally
Amid speculation over potential face-off between CM Eknath Shinde and Uddhav Thackeray, the rebel camp's MLA Sada Sarvankar wrote to civic authorities claiming Shivaji Park ground for the Dussehra rally. The letter came in view of Shiv Sena's annual Dussehra rally which will be organised on October 5.
The letter comes following a week after the Uddhav camp submitted a letter to the G-north ward office of Brihanmunbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) seeking permission for the rally, taken up by Shiv Sena since the unit's inception.
Sada Sarvankar clarified that as a local MLA and Sena's Vibhag Pramukh (zonal head), he used to submit a letter to seek permission from authorities for the rally for the last several years.
"Also, the tradition of the Dussehra rally is followed by Shiv Sainiks to carry forward Hindutva's ideology propagated by Late Shiv Sena Supremo Balasaheb Thackeray. Thus, we are preparing for this rally under one flag, one ideology and one leadership," he stated.

The MLA also hinted at the possibility of Uddhav Thackeray taking forward the legacy of Hindutva and Balasaheb and addressing Shiv Sainiks at the Dussehra rally. Hinting at the presence of MNS Chief Raj Thackeray on the dais, he said that the option could not be ruled out.
Subsequently, BMC officials stated that both letters were received by the office but the decision to grant permission would be taken only after the Ganesh Chaturthi.
