The first day of Hijri month of Dhu al-Hijjah for 1443 AH will be on Thursday June 30, 2022, and the day of Arafat will be on Friday July 8, 2022, Qatar Calendar House (QCH) has announced, according to the calculations by astronomers. However, the official decision about the beginning of Dhu al-Hijjah for this year remains within the competence of the Crescent Sighting Committee at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) in the State of Qatar. Executive Director of Sheikh Abdullah Al Ansari Complex Eng. Faisal Al Ansari said that the crescent of Dhu al-Hijjah for 1443 AH will be born on the morning of Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at 5:53 am Doha local time (2:53 am GMT). He added that the sun on Wednesday will set at 6:29 pm, while the crescent of Dhul-Hijjah will set at 7:00 pm, Doha local time.
