A team of Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials and property valuers surveyed the Goawala compound in Kurla on Tuesday. The team went there to identify the genuine tenants of the original land owner and those allegedly brought in by NCP leader and state minister Nawab Malik.
Malik is currently behind bars after getting arrested for a money laundering case registered by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). An FIR was registered by the agency in February against Dawood Ibrahim, the wanted criminal from Mumbai.
According to the complaint, Dawood Ibrahim and his network were running terror activities in the country. Following the complaint, the ED registered a case against Dawood Ibrahim and several others.

While investigating the case, ED officials searched the residence of Dawood Ibrahim's late sister Haseena Parkar. Statements from Haseena Parkar's son and a few others revealed that Nawab Malik had allegedly purchased the Goawala compound through Salim Patel and Sardar Shahwali Khan, aides of the siblings.
The ED remand report had said that the money paid by Malik for the property was used for funding Dawood's terrorist activities.
The land originally belonged to Munira Plumber and her sister. They had asked Sardar Khan's brother to collect rent from the tenants but Haseena Parkar illegally sold it to Malik.
